Fellowships

Ideos Research Fellowships are designed to support and resource scholars and practitioners who want to contribute to our understanding of empathic intelligence and its effective application in some of our world’s most challenging social issues.

Ideos Institute is committed to the research and application of Empathic Intelligence as a tool to equip Christians for faithful engagement in civic and public life, and for creating redemptive change in the world.

With a particular focus on healing divides, peace-making, and reconciliation, Ideos works to understand and implement the redemptive power of empathic wisdom for the greatest struggles of our time. Our non-residential research fellowships are designed to support and resource scholars and practitioners who want to contribute to our understanding of empathic intelligence and its effective application in some of our world’s most challenging issues.

FELLOWSHIP DETAILS

Ideos Research Fellowships typically last from 6 to 12 months, depending on the scope of the research or work being undertaken. This is a non-residential fellowship, but will feature some in-person gatherings with Ideos staff and other fellows to engender collaboration and a deeper engagement in Ideos’ Empathic Intelligence model.

Ideos works with each fellow to shape their project and deliverable for the end of the fellowship. Fellows also use their research and study in a manner that contributes to the Ideos vision and mission, as well as furthering its work to apply the Empathic Intelligence model to particular issue areas and contexts.

Fellows are also expected to contribute to contemporary conversations about empathy, with particular emphasis on existing debates within Christian circles. Depending on the work or research being undertaken, fellows may also be invited to contribute to Ideos media, publications, and programs.

Selected research fellows receive a $10,000 stipend, paid out over the course of the fellowship.
