31 Days of
Prayer & Reflection
In the midst of ongoing division and polarization here at home and around the world, we invite Christians of all backgrounds, ideologies, cultures, and ethnicities to join The (Re)union Project’s 31-Days of Unity Campaign ⎼ a campaign to encourage personal reflection, prayer, and embodied practice to shift our focus away from polarizing politics and towards the unifying presence of Christ, fostering a shared life that transcends election results.
This 31-day devotional series includes a daily prayer for unity, scripture reference, and link to a short video reflection.
Our hope is that The (Re)union Project 31-Days of Unity Campaign will be a time of connection and discernment between and among a community of believers called to help steward this movement and this moment.

During election seasons, conversations can quickly become debates, and debates can lead to division. The Fostering Empathy and Unity Sacred Listening Tool can help reframe that dynamic.
This tool encourages you to focus on understanding and connection, rather than who’s right or wrong. By listening with empathy, you create a space where others feel valued, respected, and truly heard.
*The Fostering Empathy and Unity Sacred Listening Tool was developed by Future of Faith in partnership with Ideos Institute for the 31 Days of Unity Campaign.

Sign the Pledge.*
As we wait for the campaign launch on October 1st, we invite you to show your commitment to this effort and to doing your part to unify the American Church in your community and congregation.
Pledge for Christian Unity.
We acknowledge that our nation faces a future fraught with division, polarization, false rhetoric, and hostility. We also recognize that the American Church is polarized at levels that challenge our witness and ability to lead the way in healing these divides.
Despite these challenges, we believe there’s an opportunity to come together, as ONE CHURCH, to heal the divides that threaten the strength of our relationships, the health of our congregations, and the vitality of our communities.
In response, we pledge to play an active role in changing it for the better. We pledge to do whatever we can to improve the current tone of toxic rhetoric and overt hostility. To do this, we pledge to remain open to perspectives different from our own, seek understanding of the perspectives of those we disagree with, and extend Godly love and compassion to those around us. Most importantly, we pledge to see those we disagree with as fellow image-bearers of Christ and to treat them with the same dignity and respect we desire for ourselves.
(Re)flect.
Our journey begins where all transformation begins: with reflecting on the truth of who we are and who God is. From October 1-10, we will consider how we — individually and collectively — contribute to the Church's divisions. Where has our call to unity failed? What good news does God offer us for these failures? What needs to die within us in order to be resurrected in the love of God?

(Re)store.
As we move from repentance into new life, we will seek God’s restoration of the Church. Unity is the fruit of sharing the mind of Christ and living with Christ’s sacrificial love for one another. From October 11-21, we will continue our journey by cultivating that love within ourselves and within the Church so that we might see the body of Christ begin to heal.

(Re)deem.
As a people filled with the Spirit, we will end our journey by seeking a new, redemptive imagination for what seems to be our unescapable reality. What will it look like for us to join God in the healing of that which has been broken? Empowered by the love of Christ, how can we offer an alternative reality of unity and compassion in a world of dissonance and anger? How can we be peacemakers in a divided world?

(Re)joice.
As we focus our gaze on what lies ahead, let us rejoice over what God has done in and through us over the course of our journey together. We rejoice because, over these 31 days, God has been present and at work in the voices we have listened to, the scripture we have reflected on, and the prayers we have spoken. Now, as we move from this period of reflection, restoration and redemption, may we rejoice in being united with God and with those who share our inheritance in Christ.
